Molly Heald
I am passionate about closing achievement and opportunity gaps for marginalized students. I believe that by understanding the systems that impact a child's ability to learn, we can provide supports addressing that child's overall well-being.
Centered in the belief that building lasting relationships and looking out for those left behind are crucial for true equity, Policy Fellow Molly Heald brings commitment to these values to her work. Focusing on the Beyond 2025 database, she provides information about the policies proposed in “Project 2025” and the “America First Agenda,” revealing their impacts on American society. Through this effort, she seeks to uphold values of justice, equity, and systemic change to empower communities to advocate for action.
Milly’s career experience spans direct service roles in education, arts, and nonprofit sectors, including positions at Central Square Theater, Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School, and Hildebrand Family Self-Help Center, Inc. She encourages collaboration and relationship-building, having developed a program at Hildebrand that brought together the staff in both the shelter and stabilization teams to provide improved continuity of care when a client moves out of shelter. As a teacher’s associate at Banneker Charter School, which serves historically marginalized students, Molly taught first and third grade classes. She carries the stories of this school, passionate about social justice and educational equity, with her in everything she does.
Molly is dedicated to serving children and teenagers in the Greater Boston area. She was a teaching assistant for Central Square Theater’s Youth Underground program, where high school students collaborated with staff to create and perform a piece about community issues important to them, such as gun violence. Her ability to work with students and empower them to share their experiences reflects her commitment to advocacy and making space at the table for voices that need to be heard.
Molly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in developmental psychology from the University of California, San Diego. At Boston University, she is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree from the School of Social Work and a Master of Education in educational policy and leadership from the Wheelock School of Education.
