Rush University Medical Center established a new endowment fund in honor of Robyn L. Golden, associate vice president of social work and community health and chair of the department of social work at Rush University, and advisory board member for the Center for Innovation in Social Work & Health (CISWH) at BU School of Social Work (BUSSW).
Recognized as a national leader in social work and community health, Golden has helped shape integrated, person-centered approaches to care that emphasize dignity and equity. Throughout her career, Golden has advocated for social work services in medical settings as the founding member of the Coalition for Social Work and Health, and has developed models that embed social care in health care. The Robyn L. Golden Fund for Social Work and Community Health is the first endowment for social work at Rush University.
Excerpt from “Ensuring No One Is Left Behind: Landmark Endowment Honors Social Work Leader Robyn Golden”:
The endowment will provide sustained support for programs that address social needs such as housing, food access, caregiving, and social isolation. It will also help strengthen the social work workforce and expand integrated care models that connect clinical services with community-based support. By offering flexible, long-term funding, the initiative enables programs to adapt to evolving community needs while continuing to center equity, dignity, and patient advocacy in care delivery.
